Pastoral Staff

Rev. Dr. Gail Simonds, Pastor
Rev. Dr. Gail Simonds has a Master of Divinity from Methodist Theological School in Ohio. She previously served as a Consulting Pastor with Angels of Hope MCC in Green Bay, Wisconsin. She also operated Weathervane Ministries, an independent ministry of the Metropolitan Community Churches, providing ministerial support of nontraditional life landmarks in the upper peninsula of Michigan. Rev. Gail served as the Minister of Outreach and Discipleship for Harmony United Methodist Church in Cos Bay, Oregon. Most recently, Rev. Gail served as Pastor at MCC Corpus Christi, TX for a short time before the church made the decision to close.

Office Staff & Support

Barbara L. Hardison, Administrative Assistant
Barbara is a transplanted Oklahoman born in Tulsa, but she has been in Michigan so long it is truly her home.  Her work career began in the banking industry but she spent most of her work life as an Office Manager in the wholesale business and later working for a food delivery company. 

In 1999, Barbara found a church where she could be herself, at Divine Peace MCC.  Soon after, she began serving as a volunteer Administrative Assistant to the Pastor. Later, the church hired her to serve in the position on a part-time basis.  In addition to her employed position, Barbara is a member of the congregation and takes pleasure in serving in other ministry roles including her focus on technology in service.

Over the years, Barbara has led and supported several ministry teams and passed them on to others as new leaders emerged.  She has always been willing to lend a helping hand when needed to assist others serving in ministry and she believes in this church that is here for all people…no exceptions.
